Picking up where...
Writing this post feels most like picking up an old dusty journal that I wrote in a few times but never really spent time with. A lot has happened since 04 when I started this blog to share a journey I was going through. Maybe it's hindsight, maybe it's age and better perspective. But, now I see the journey was not what I thought it was and maybe today I have more to offer.
To catch up, here is some recent history:
- I lead (past tense) a church plant out of a large church who's senior pastor was unknowingly on his way out.
- A 3 year commitment of support turned into 6 months and then our plant was asked to get off the parent church's books entirely.
- Some relational bridges were damaged.
- Our church plant (North Sound Christ the King) journeyed together for a little over 2 years before we dissolved the church to simply exist as a network of friends.
- I worked for a local coffee shop to make ends meet and worked with a dear friend for a few months visioneering in his church.
- Then I was hired into my dream job at Doxa Church in West Seattle.
- Six months into my dream-come-to-life job the elders of that church felt lead to "shut it down and give it away".
- A new church took over caring for the building and the people.
- My heart was broken as God called me away to a place for me to heal. This place ended up being a church in my own neighborhood.
- A Pastor who I had know a few years called to invite me into his church where I am now a Pastor of children and young families.
